An online seminar on vocational education and training (VET seminar) will be held on March 21, 2023 at  9:00 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. via the Webex platform.

Organizer: Research Agency, Programme Operator of the Business, Innovation and SMEs Program.

Funded by: EEA and Norway Grants under the Fund for Bilateral Relations.

Aim: The VET seminar aims at strengthening the cooperation of educational institutions in order to enhance the relevance and quality of vocational education and training provided in Slovakia and donor countries, i.e. Lichtenstein and Norway, within the programme area “Education, Scholarships, Apprenticeships and Youth Entrepreneurship”.

The seminar will enable the participants to gain an overview of VET systems in the donor states and Slovakia; to facilitate networking, cooperation, sharing and transfer of knowledge, experience and best practices between relevant stakeholders.

Target group: mainly secondary school teachers, but also universities, businesses, or representatives of the local government.

At the seminar, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the SR, Mr. Slavomír Partila, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Slovakia H.E. Alex Vodička Winther and experts in the field of vocational education from Slovakia, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Research Agency as the Programme Operator of the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs Programme launched the Call for Bilateral Initiatives BIN BF04 under the Fund for Bilateral Relations. The Call is funded by the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms.

The aim of the Call for Proposals for Bilateral Initiatives under the Fund for Bilateral Relations within the Business Development, Innovation and SMEs programme is to set-up a flexible and easy tool to develop and strengthen business partnerships between the entities from Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway (Donor states) and Slovakia. The programme focus areas:

  • Green Industry Innovation and
  • Welfare Technology and Ambient Assisted Living technologies

Eligible applicants and partners are any public, private entities, commercial or non-commercial, as well as NGOs established as legal persons in Slovakia and the Donor states. Each Slovak applicant shall have at least one partner from the Donor states and vice versa.

Grant amount to be applied for is € 1,000 – € 10,000. The total allocation for the Call is € 70 000. No co-financing is required by the applicant under this Call.

Grant Applications shall be written in English and submitted via electronic system egrant and will be evaluated in the order they are received (FIFO principle).

Grant Application submission deadline is 30 June 2024.

The implementation of the initiative should not last more than 6 months and should be finished by 31 December 2024.

Call for proposals for Bilateral Initiatives (BIN BF03) financed by the EEA and Norway Grants was closed on 31 December 2022.

There were 7 project applications received which underwent the selection process. Based on the assessment of selection criteria none of the applications was approved.
